What Does a Used Container Cost? Price Overview 2026
A used container costs different amounts depending on type and equipment. Used office containers range from €2,100 to €3,800, sanitary containers from €2,900 to €5,000, and storage containers from €1,650 to €2,100. All containers come from our own ELA rental fleet and are factory-inspected before sale. The exact price depends mainly on year of manufacture, duration of use, equipment and size.

Transparent Delivery Costs
At ELA, transparency also applies to pricing. Since self-collection is often logistically complex, we recommend our specialised delivery service. So you can calculate with confidence, the following transport costs apply for delivery within Germany:
Within a radius of 100 kilometres (from the container location), we charge nationwide: €349 plus VAT.

What Determines the Price?
Why does one container cost more than another? Four factors determine the price:
- Year of manufacture: Newer modules command higher prices than older ones. The year of manufacture is stated in every offer, so you can see the connection to the price at a glance.
- Duration of use in the rental fleet: Our containers come from our own ELA rental fleet. How long a module has been in use affects its condition and price.
- Equipment: Electrical installation, lighting, plumbing technology or shelving increase the value. An office container with shelving and electrics is therefore priced higher than the plain storage solution.
- Size: More floor space generally means a higher price. A 20-foot module therefore costs more than a 10-foot module.
Every container undergoes a technical inspection at the factory before sale, including an electrical and plumbing inspection where applicable. This way, you know the condition and equipment before making your decision.

Why Fixed Prices Instead of Negotiation?
Every container is marked with a fixed price. This way, you can immediately see what a model costs and plan your budget with confidence. This saves time and creates transparency for both sides.
Are the prices inclusive of VAT?
For business customers, all prices stated are net amounts in euros and are subject to statutory VAT. For private customers, the stated product prices are gross amounts in euros and include statutory VAT, excluding delivery costs.
What is included in the purchase price?
By default, we hand over our used containers empty. Furniture such as desks or lockers, shelving systems, as well as any heating units or air conditioning units shown, are only included in the price if the respective offer explicitly mentions them.
Are delivery costs added on top?
Yes. In addition to the container price, distance-based transport costs are added, along with a flat crane fee of €69 plus VAT per container. Within a radius of 100 kilometres, we charge €349 plus VAT. The scaled costs for greater distances can be found in the table above.
Can I save on delivery costs by collecting the container myself?
For logistical reasons, we recommend delivery via our special trucks with a loading crane. Collection is possible under certain circumstances. Simply mention this to our sales team in the comment field of your inquiry.
Is there a warranty?
Our containers are technically inspected and fully functional, but as used goods, they show visible signs of use. The specific terms depend on the respective offer and our Terms and Conditions. Our sales team is happy to clarify the details in a personal consultation.

The stated ranges reflect the 2026 status and are for guidance. As our range changes continuously, the price stated in the respective offer is binding. Our sales team regularly reviews the ranges and keeps them up to date.
